Which introduces the a new main character. On the up side, it does come with the first 8 episodes of one of the seasons.

Though I brought it rather than holding my breath. You can either watch this film, or wait to see if the release an uncut version. It sounds better, has better dialogue, and better characterisation.

The censorship will either enrage fans, or they will ignore it, depending on how badly they want to see this movie in English.
#Winx club magical adventure movie series
Ignoring the problems, and the censorship, this movie is an OK distraction with nice visuals, cute characters, an no series risks taken. Now, they've put it within living memory of none magical character. Then they made it sound like it was a long time ago, and that the character involved were simply long lived because they were magical. The early seasons made it sound like Domino was destroyed as part of the magical dimension's ancient history. Particularly concerning exactly when Domino was destroyed. Plot wise, there are some attempts at world building, but they run into a couple of the normal Winx timeline issues. It's not Pixar, but it's better than the series, and better than other competing franchises, like the CGI version of Barbie. It's pretty good for a TV\Straight to video animation. Visually, the movie is bright and bold, the animation is smooth, and there are some nice effects. It's just not up to the standard that you would expect form a feature length movie version. It's a little different from the series, but it's not bad. Both in the original and the censored versions. There's nothing new or edgy here, but no nasty surprises or out of character moments either. There's a large cast, but they mostly just stand around doing very little, and when they do do something it's largely just something that's totally expected for their character. The story is a little bit fluffy, and does tend to wander off into fairy-tail\character stereotype territory a bit. The entire happy ever after scene is cut.Ĭensorship aside. That's right, this is the Winx wedding movie, only it isn't. Oh, and they also cut the entire wedding scene at the end of the movie. Hence the extreme reactions of the other cast.

He proposed marriage, and then broke off their engagement. Sky didn't' ask her to a dance and then say the he couldn't go. Their reaction seems over the top, even by teen drama\cartoon standards. Leaving the movie feeling half finished, and creating a number of moments in the movie where you really can't understand why the characters are reacting so seriously to certain situations.įor example, in the Nickelodeon version Bloom's birth parents have an extremely pronounced reaction when she tells them that Prince Sky has invited to a bit social event, and an equally pronounced reaction when tells her that he can't take her. Yes, that's right, Nickelodeon have been extremely heavy handed with the censorship, and have had to ditch the main subplot. What's the difference, you ask, about 45 minutes, and half of the story. It's "Nickelodeon's - Winx Club: Magical Adventure". Unfortunate, this movie ISN'T Magical Adventure. Magical Adventure is a good children's movie.
